9. Green Tea

Regularly drinking green tea can help to promote weight loss as well as reducing our risk of developing several diseases connected to chronic inflammation, including type 2 diabetes, heart disease, certain cancers and obesity.
Green tea contains caffeine and a type of flavonoid called catechin, which is an antioxidant. Research suggests that both of these compounds help to speed up our metabolism. An increased metabolic rate helps us burn more calories and therefore also burn more fat and lose weight.
More specifically, catechin helps to break down excess fat, while both catechin and caffeine can increase the amount of energy the body uses, therefore burning more calories.
While green tea has been found to have a positive impact on weight loss, the result isn’t always significant. So by all means make green tea part of a healthy lifestyle, but it must be in conjunction with other heathy foods and lifestyle choices.
Drinking two to three cups of green tea per day seems to be optimal to reap the most health benefits.
